For a little background, I was at lunch in early February with a couple girlfriends and they were RAVING about their new Clarisonic Mia 2s. So I started doing some research, saw the pricing, and quickly put it out of my head. Fast forward to March, I went to a birthday party for one of my friends, and I had decided to spray tan for a little color because, well, I am pale. After a light coat of color, (now that I think about it, I should probably share my artificial tanning experiences with you guys...) I put my face together, got dressed, and looked my best for a night of dinner and dancing with my girls. It wasn't until two days later that my face EXPLODED. In hind site, I should have realized how old some of the makeup I had sloughed on my face was, but the fact of the matter is, I didn't. I went from clear peaches and cream, to fading self-tan and massive acne. I have been very fortunate in my life, that outside of my "period zits," I have never been plagued with acne. After two years of being a Clinique Addict in my early twenties, I broke out heavily, but switched products and have since been fairly acne free (damn period zits). I do however, tend to have eternal tiny blackheads across my nose, and as I get older I am finding them in new places on my face. I digress... So I woke up in March and I declared war on the massive cystic acne that had invaded my face. And the research began...

I wanted a facial brush that oscillated. If it doesn't "Oscillate," you don't want it. The spinning action of other brushes pulls at the skin causing quicker degradation of the skin's natural elastin and break down of collegen.

So after reading several reviews, I decided I wanted a Clarisonic Mia2. Unfortunately after the bills get paid on Pay Day, I cannot afford/justify the cost of a Clarisonic Mia2. So I started researching comparable products. This led me to the Pretika and the Nutra Sonic. I found the Pretika at Walmart for 36.99 and at half the price of the Nutra Sonic, and less than a quarter of the price of the Clarisonic, I bought my new best Pal... Or so I thought. The Pretika was great for about a week. It powers with a plug that looks like a cell phone charger, and has a little rubber flap to keep the water out while it is being used (which I made sure was closed tightly.) After a week, it needed charged again. I plugged it in before work, and came home to what was a beauty junkies equivalent to a gamer's "Red Ring of Death." It was a blinking red light. It supposed to turn green when charged and while charging is solid red, so this is a conundrum. Internet searching did not turn up anything worth noting, and I set it aside to deal with later. The next morning the red blinking like was gone! Yay! I used it again, and then the light came on after use, turned green, and stayed on and the brush would not turn on. After a couple days of this, and a trip to my dermatologist, I said "eff this noise" and bought the Clarisonic Mia (from the above link). With 20% off, and the Mia already being less expensive, AND free shipping; I figured I was getting a good deal, a better warranty, and according to my friends a FABULOUS product- even if it was more than I really wanted to spend. (And the Island Coral goes wonderfully with my bathroom decor)

It's been three months. And I love this thing, it was totally worth the price. I turn thirty this year, and I am finding the average guestimate to my age is around 21 now. I have a bit of a baby face anyways, but I was getting 25 before.
